Founders

Last week when we were at the Tulip Time Festival we also spent some time in Grand Rapids.  After a recommendation from a friend we found ourselves at Founders.  Have you ever been there?  We love checking out Michigan's microbreweries and this place was so fun.  The beer was delicious and I loved that they had a whole wall open so it felt like you were hanging out outside.  But of course, any place with the menu on a chalkboard and peanut shells littering the ground is good by me.

The Dark Horse Brewery

We always have so much fun visiting The Dark Horse Brewery in Marshall.  Awesome service, food, and beer.  It doesn't get much better than that!  The Dark Horse is so welcoming and I love that if you are part of the mug club you have your very own mug hanging from the ceiling.  It does get rather busy on the weekends and around dinner so be warned that it is not the best place for a quiet meal, but you can't beat the atmosphere for some hometown fun!

Frankenmuth, Round 2

We decided to skip over the chicken dinner and have dinner at The Frankenmuth Brewery.  We had a great view of the river, the food (and beer) was delicious, service was great, and I loved the dark wood and historic look of the restaurant.
We also stopped at the Lager Mill.  They aren't open for tours yet, but we were informed they are in the process of getting antiques together and will hopefully be open for tours in  in a few months.
All of these beers are produced from microbreweries in Michigan.  They all had awesome names and labels that had to do with Michigan themes and I loved it.  I was excited to see they sold beer from the Dark Horse Brewery in Marshall-- we are already planning our visit!
